{picked up at the park or along the walk there}
Hello All!
First of all thank you to everyone who offered up their talents as contributors to this wee little space of ours. It was an honor to read all of your thoughts on nature and your kids and the wonderful things that happen when the two collide.
After much thought, we have decided to start small with a few contributors and if all goes well, we'll see about adding more.
But we received so many amazing entries that we will be also adding a few guest bloggers and interviews in the coming months as well. There was just too much goodness to resist.
With that, I am very excited to introduce you to the wonderful new folks who will be adding their thoughts and pretty pictures to The Magnifying Glass very shortly.
- Annie, a reading teacher as well as a nature lover, of Bird and Little Bird will be bringing you nature inspired book reviews and recommendations
- Nancy blogs at Learning As I Go and will bring you what nature looks like in the big city of Washington D.C.
- Dawn of To The Outskirts will be focusing on nature crafts and projects
- Lucia of Dim Sum, Bagels and Crawfish will be wowing us with nature finds from Italy!
- and Lisa of 5 Orange Potatoes will also be bringing you family friendly nature crafts and projects

Announcing May's Photo Project!
The photo above should be a clue. Awhile back we started a series called Nature In My Pocket. During the month of May you are challenged to take a nature walk and find the most interesting and diverse little bits of nature you can. Then photograph them in the "collection" style shown above. I am working on a really great prize for the first Magnifying Glass: Photo Challenge.
The rules are...
1. All items in the photograph must be from one single outing, not a collection of items from different outings or different areas.
2. Photos must be posted to the flickr group between May 1 and May31 to be considered.
3. Have fun with your kiddos in the process...that's it!
Here's to great beginnings and new projects friends!
